When it comes to spiritual pursuits in the "New Age" or "Consciousness" space, no moniker or field of study is more enigmatic than The Kabalah. The word makes people's ears perk up whenever I mention it. It seems to conjure up images of nefarious robed figures chanting magical incantations and summoning spirits from the underworld. That makes me chuckle.
I'm sure in some circles that behavior may be true but honestly, I've studied all three schools of Kabalah over the course of about 4 decades and have never once run into anyone doing that. In my opinion all of that is just a bit of nonsense conjured up through the movies people watch. I know, Kabalah, Kabalah, Cabala, and Qabalah and all have weird reputations. Even the spellings above are based on superstition. No wonder people are confused.
I think a lot of people through the ages have written about it based on the desire to create a mystique about it. "Learn this ancient mystical art and become a part of a special group of individuals." That sort of thing. That may be the draw for some, but it wasn't the case for me. For me, the call to study was the hope that this path would give me more of what I was looking for.
What was I looking for? Well, I was looking for the answer to a mystery regarding PSI. I was trying to puzzle out what the ancients knew about using what Bob Monroe spoke of in his Gateway Affirmation. Specifically "the energies and energy systems which might be beneficial to me and to those who followed me." These energies and systems were explained to me by Bob as being an alignment of consciousness which produced the effects we see in PSI research. In other words, the way in which we use consciousness on a personal level and how it interacts with a larger consciousness to produce weird anomalies like: Psychic functioning, Remote Viewing, Energy or Spiritual Healing, other forms of manipulating matter with the mind. This is formerly known as magic. Also things like Channeling, which was formerly known in ancient times as Prophecy. These are very observable things which science does not yet understand and which PSI tries to understand. So for me, the draw was primarily researching the psyche.
So as a PSI researcher, I took the plunge and studied. What I found initially was a very strange world full of superstition and nonsense. Still, for some odd reason I was prompted to continue studying. Something about the language of Kabalah stirred my soul. As a result, I wandered from school to school. Read book after book. I absorbed all of the ideas, concepts, correlations and teachings. I even spent time working with Kabalistic astrology, the Tarot, Numerology, and read the various "Sepher's" which are ancient Books coded in mystical language.
I discovered that I was not alone. Many scholars in physics and consciousness studies such as Jung and Newton were said to be students of Kabalah. Even William Shakespeare and Francis Bacon were said to be students. This encouraged me to believe that somewhere in this pile of superstitious manure there might be a pony.
One day, I found it! Truthfully, it was there all along. I just didn't have the eyes to see it. The best part was that the "it" was exactly what I had hoped it would be.
You see at its essence, Kabalah was and is a method of focusing consciousness "to understand, control and use the energies and energy system" that Bob and I had discussed in the lab at Monroe Institute. Kabalah even addresses the power of altered states of consciousness and how they are used in working with the energy systems.
Kabalah is a psycho-spiritual method of exploring energy. Specifically its diversity and polarity. I'd go as far as to say that among all of the "New Age" principles that attract so many people in the modern era, Kabalah is the most cohesive method of understanding energy that I have ever come across. In my career exploring all things PSI, that's saying a lot. When you do decades of PSI research, there comes a point when you've seen it all.
Kabalah is even more than that. As a psycho-spiritual system, Kabalah is a means of understanding the self and its components. Not necessarily from a philosophical point of view but through a felt sense of understanding. These energies are inside of all of us and are part of our psychological makeup. They are a part of the human psyche and we are the energy system on a micro scale. We are also individually part of an even larger energy system on a macro scale. One which we continually interact with in order to maintain what we call reality.
This makes Kabalah a psycho-spiritual system which speaks to the mysteries of quantum physics and metaphysics, psychology and parapsychology. In a word, PSI.
Believe it or not, even this explanation of Kabalah is perfunctory. Kabalah is far deeper than can be explained in a simple essay. Even the volumes of written material written on the subject pale in comparison to the direct experience of the Tree of Life which dwells within and without. Like life itself, Kabalah is a living system which needs to be experienced as well as intellectually understood.
That is why I have decided to create the experience of Kabalah and Consciousness as the latest in the series of Triad Mind programs. To give every ear which perks up when the word Kabalah is mentioned, an opportunity to go beyond the study as an intellectual pursuit.
The program is presented in a live group format via Zoom. During these sessions we will explore the Tree of Life in the four dimensions (or worlds) as they exist.
The goal of this work is not only to understand "the energies and energy systems" but to integrate and apply them to make our world a more vibrant place.
The aim of Kabalah and Consciousness is to bring the Tree of Life.... to life.
All course material will be provided. All class meetings will be recorded. There will be 15 live Zoom sessions every Saturday and 19 guided exercises for you to explore over the course of six months. There is no prerequisite experience to attend. All are welcome.
Mark your calendar and set your schedule to dedicate yourself to something which I hope you will find extraordinarily helpful on your journey. Hope you will attend.
